Ranking of Cards in "Teen Patti"

3 Patti uses a standard 52 card deck, with Aces ranking highest and 2's lowest.
The object of the game is to have the best 3 card hand, and to maximize the pot before the showdown.
Any hand of a higher category beats any hand of a lower category. The categories are ranked as follows:
• Three of a Kind/ Trio – three of the same cards. Three aces are the highest and three twos are the lowest.
• Straight Flush – three consecutive cards of the same suit. The highest of these is A-2-3 followed by A-K-Q, K-Q-J and so on down to 4-3-2, which is the lowest and 2-A-K is not valid.

Best Hands
Three of a Kind/ Trio:
A♣ A♥ A♦
Straight Flush:
A♦ 2♦ 3♦
Straight:
A♣ 2♠ 3♦
Flush/Color:
A♦ K♦ J♦
Pair:
A♥ A♦ K♦
High Card:
A♥ K♦ J♣
• Straight – three consecutive cards not all in the same suit. A-2-3 is the best straight followed by A-K-Q, K-Q-J and so on down to 4-3-2. 2-A-K is not a valid straight.
• Flush/Color – three cards of the same suit. When comparing two colors, first compare the highest, if these are equal compare the second and if these are equal compare the lowest. The lowest flush is 5-3-2 and the highest is A-K-J.
• Pair – Two cards of the same rank. Between two pairs the one with the higher value is the winner. If the pairs are of equal value then the odd card determines the winner. Therefore the lowest pair is 2-2-3 and the highest is A-A-K.
• High Card – If two players share a common high card, the next highest card is used to determine the winner. The best high card hand would be an AKJ of different suits.

Teen Patti

3 Patti, which means "three cards", is a card game that originated in East India and one that has been played for centuries among those all over Southeast Asia.
3 Patti is also known as Flush (Flash) and is closely related to the British game Three Card Brag or Bragg.
This Indian version of 3 card Poker is played with a standard 52-card deck, with the ace being the highest-ranking card, followed by a king, queen and jack.
Although many people play 3 Patti casually during the weekends amongst friends, it is very popular during Diwali, as families get together for hours to enjoy the holidays.

Object of the game
The object of the game is to have the best 3 card hand, and to maximize the pot before the showdown. Any hand of a higher category beats any hand of a lower category. The hands in 3 Patti are best explained in the Hand Rankings page.
Game Description
3 Patti is played with everyone seated in a circle at a floor rug or at a table. An ante or minimum stake is decided beforehand, and all players involved must "ante" this amount into the pot. The dealer deals until everyone has three cards, and all leave their cards face down until it is their turn to bet. Each player has the option to look at their hand before betting (playing seen) or to leave their cards face down on the table (playing blind).

Poker

Poker is a type of card game in which players bet on the value of the card combination ("hand") in their possession, by placing a bet into a central pot. The winner is the one who holds the hand with the highest value according to an established hand rankingshierarchy, or otherwise the player who remains in the hand after all others have folded (the player who makes an un-called bet), and wins this pot.

Variations
Poker has many variations, all following a similar pattern of play and using the same hand ranking hierarchy. There are three main families of variants, largely grouped by the protocol of card-dealing and betting:
"Straight" - A complete hand is dealt to each player, and players bet in one round, with raising and re-raising allowed. This is the oldest poker family; the root of the game as currently played was a game known as Primero, which evolved into the game Three-card brag, a very popular gentleman's game around the time of the American Revolutionary War and still enjoyed in the U.K. today. "Straight" hands of five cards are sometimes used as a final showdown, but poker is currently virtually always played in a more complex form to allow for additional strategy.
Stud - Cards are dealt in a prearranged combination of face-down and face-up rounds or "streets", with a round of betting following each. This is the next-oldest family; as poker progressed from three to five-card hands, they were often dealt one card at a time, either face-down or face-up, with a betting round between each. The most popular stud variant today, 7 card stud, deals two extra cards to each player (three facedown, four faceup) from which they must make the best possible 5-card hand.
Draw - A complete hand is dealt to each player, face-down, and after betting, players are allowed to attempt to change their hand by discarding unwanted cards and being dealt new ones. 5 card draw is the most famous variation in this family.
Community - A variation of Stud, players are dealt an incomplete hand of face-down cards, and then a number of face-up "community" cards are dealt to the center of the table, each of which can be used by one or more of the players to make a 5-card hand. Texas hold-em and Omaha are two well-known variants of the Community family.
Other games that use poker hand rankings may likewise be referred to as "poker". Video poker is a single-player computer game that functions much like a slot machine; most video poker machines play draw poker, where the player bets, a hand is dealt, and the player can discard and replace cards. Payout is dependent on the hand resulting after the draw and the player's initial bet.
Another game with the "Poker" name, but with a vastly different mode of play, is called "Acey-Deucey" or "Red Dog" Poker. This game is more similar to Blackjack in its layout and betting; each player bets against the house, and then is dealt two cards. For the player to win, the third card dealt (after an opportunity to raise the bet) must have a value in between the first two. Payout is based on the odds that this is possible, based on the difference in values of the first two cards.

Game play
In casual play, the right to deal a hand typically rotates among the players and is marked by a token called a'dealer' button (or "buck"). In a casino, a house dealer handles the cards for each hand, but the button (typically a white plastic disk) is rotated clockwise among the players to indicate a nominal dealer to determine the order of betting.
One or more players are usually required to makeforced bets, usually either an ante or a blind bet (sometimes both). The dealer shuffles the cards, the player one chair to his right cuts, and the dealer deals the appropriate number of cards to the players one at a time. Cards may be dealt either face-up or face-down, depending on the variant of poker being played. After the initial deal, the first of what may be severalbetting rounds begins. Between rounds, the players' hands develop in some way, often by being dealt additional cards or replacing cards previously dealt. At the end of each round, all bets are gathered into the central pot.
At any time during a betting round, if one player bets and no opponents choose to "call" (match) the bet and instead "fold", the hand ends immediately, the bettor is awarded the pot, no cards are required to be shown, and the next hand begins. This is what makes bluffingpossible. Bluffing is a primary feature of poker, one that distinguishes it from other vying games and from other games that make use of poker hand rankings.
At the end of the last betting round, if more than one player remains, there is a showdown, in which the players reveal their previously hidden cards and evaluate their hands. The player with the best hand according to the poker variant being played wins the pot. A poker hand consists of five cards, but in some variants a player has more than five to choose from.

How to play Blackjack

The hand with the highest total wins as long as it doesn't exceed 21; a hand with a higher total than 21 is said to bust or too many. Cards 2 through 10 are worth their face value, and face cards (jack, queen, king) are all worth 10. An ace's value is 11 unless this would cause the player to bust, in which case it is worth 1. A hand in which an ace's value is counted as 11 is called a soft hand, because it cannot be busted if the player draws another card.
Each player's goal is to beat the dealer by having the higher, unbusted hand. Note that if the player busts they lose, even if the dealer also busts. If both the player and the dealer have the same point value, it is called a "push", and neither player nor dealer wins the hand. Each player has an independent game with the dealer, so it is possible for the dealer to lose to some players but still beat the other players in the same round.

Example of a Blackjack game. The top half of the picture shows the beginning of the round, with bets placed and an initial two cards for each player. The bottom half shows the end of the round, with the associated losses or payoffs.
The minimum/maximum bet is printed on a sign on the table and varies from casino to casino and table to table. After initial bets are placed, the dealer deals the cards, either from one or two hand-helddecks of cards, known as a "pitch" game, or more commonly from a shoe containing four or more decks. The dealer gives two cards to each player including himself. One of the dealer's two cards is face-up so all the players can see it, and the other is face down. (The face-down card is known as the "hole card". In European blackjack, the hole card is not actually dealt until the players all play their hands.) The cards are dealt face up from a shoe, or face down if it is a pitch game.
In American blackjack, if the dealer's face-up card is an ace or a ten-value, the dealer checks their hole card to see if they have a blackjack. This check occurs before any of the players play, but after they have been offered insurance (if the face-up card is an ace). If the dealer has blackjack, all players lose their initial bets, except players who also have blackjack, who push. (In some American casinos, the dealer does not actually check the hole card until after the players have all played. At that time, if the dealer turns out to have blackjack, all players who did not have blackjack lose their bets, and players who increased their bets by doubling or splitting lose only the original bet, and have the additional bets returned to them; thus, the end result is precisely as if the dealer had checked the hole card before playing.)
A two-card hand of 21 (an ace plus a ten-value card) is called a "blackjack" or a "natural", and is an automatic winner (unless the dealer has blackjack as well, in which case the hand is a push). A player with a natural is usually paid 3:2 on his bet. Some casinos pay only 6:5 on blackjacks; although this reduced payout has generally been restricted to single-deck games. This reduced payout for a natural increases the house advantage over a player by as much as 1000 percent. The move was decried by longtime blackjack players

Gambling in casinos

In most jurisdictions worldwide, gambling is limited to persons over the age of license (18 or 21 years of age in most of the United States and 16 to 21 in most other countries where casinos are permitted).[5]
Customers gamble by playing slot machines or other games of chance (e.g., crapsroulettebaccarat) and some skill (e.g.,blackjackpoker) (for more see casino games). Games usually have mathematically-determined odds that ensure the house has at all times an advantage over the players. This can be expressed more precisely by the notion of expected value, which is uniformly negative (from the player's perspective). This advantage is called the house edge. In games such as poker where players play against each other, the house takes a commission called the rake. Casinos often give out free items, known as comps to people who are gambling. Often, in most casinos, the more money a player uses the more benefits or comps the player get.
Payout is the percentage won by players.
Playing with house money refers to the situation where a winning player is placing bets with money that has been won from the casino.

History of the term casino

The term "Casino" originally meant a small villasummerhouse orpavilion built for pleasure, usually on the grounds of a larger Italianvilla or palazzo. There are examples of such casinos at Villa Giuliaand Villa Farnese. In modern day Italian, this term designates abordello (also called "casa chiusa", literally "closed house"), while the gambling house is spelled casinĂ² with an accent.
One of the first known casinos was established in Venice around 1638. During the 19th century, the term "casino" came to include other public buildings where pleasurable activities, including gambling, and sports took place. An example of this type of building is the Newport Casino in Newport, Rhode Island.
Not all casinos were used for gaming. The Copenhagen Casino was a theatre, known for the use made of its hall for mass public meetings during the 1848 Revolution which made Denmark aconstitutional monarchy. Until 1937 it was a well-known Danish theatre. The Hanko Casino located in HankoFinland - one of that town's most conspicuous landmarks - was never used for gambling. Rather, it was a banquet hall for the Russian nobility which frequented this spa resort in the late 1800s, and is presently used as a restaurant.
